How to Rename User Profiles in Windows 8








Recently we have come across a new operating system from Microsoft called windows 8. This operating system is expected to be included with many advanced and attractive features. One of the main attractive points of this operating system is its Metro User interface. To know more about Metro UI click on the link given at the end of this tutorial. In this tutorial we shall learn few things about user profiles. We shall learn how to manage user profiles in windows 8. In this tutorial we shall learn how to rename profile and how to delete user profile in windows 8.



Rename User Profile in Windows 8:



Step 1:
Open control panel window by clicking icon from metro UI and later select “More Settings” from control panel interface.





Step 2:
Now in this control panel window click on Add or remove user account link under User Accounts and Family Safety



On clicking this link, a new window will appear on your screen, as shown in below image; this window shows you all the available users profile with their account accessibility. In this window select the user name for which you prefer to change the name.





Step 3:
On selecting the user name, a new window will appear on your screen, as shown in below image. Using this window you can perform many accounts managing task such as changing name, setting up parental control, deleting account and changing account type.





Step 4:
Now click on change the account name link, on performing this action, another window will appear on your screen, as shown in below image. In this window enter the preferred user name in the text field and click on Change Name button.
